Options for Admission
The Polk State College Honors Program is designed for highly motivated, talented students who wish to be challenged by an intellectually stimulating academic program of study.
To be admitted to the Honors Program, students must meet one or more of the following:
- Unweighted high school GPA of 3.5 or higher
- SAT combined score of 1100 or higher in Math and Critical Reading
- ACT composite score of 25 or higher
- College GPA of 3.2 or higher
- PERT score of 120 or above on both the Writing section and the Reading section
Students must also submit a completed application to any Polk State College advisor.
Students who are interested in joining the Honors Program but who have not yet met one of the requirements above may apply for provisional acceptance. Students who are admitted provisionally must take at least one Honors course in their first semester of acceptance. They must also earn a 3.2 or higher GPA in the semester provisional admission is granted. Students must submit a completed provisional application to any Polk State College advisor.
